Health At Every Size !

The Health at Every Size (HAES) movement advocates for a shift in focus from weight-centric approaches to health to a more inclusive and holistic perspective. It emphasizes that health outcomes can be achieved and maintained regardless of body size. HAES promotes self-acceptance, body diversity, and intuitive eating, encouraging individuals to listen to their bodies' needs rather than adhering to rigid diet and exercise regimens.

My 4 Pillars

  • As a proponent of intuitive eating, I believe in cultivating a positive and mindful relationship with food and my body. By rejecting diet culture's rules and restrictions, I embrace the freedom to eat without guilt or shame, savoring each bite and enjoying the pleasures of food. Through intuitive eating, I prioritize self-care and self-compassion, fostering a healthier and happier relationship with both food and myself.

  • Body neutrality offers a refreshing alternative to the constant pressure of achieving body positivity. As someone who believes in it, I see body neutrality as a mindset that focuses less on how my body looks and more on what it can do and how it feels. By shifting my focus away from appearance-based judgments, I can redirect my energy towards activities and experiences that bring me joy and fulfillment.

  • Cognitive behavioral coaching resonates deeply with me as it combines the power of cognitive restructuring with actionable steps towards personal growth. Embracing this approach, I believe in the transformative potential of identifying and challenging limiting beliefs and thought patterns. I learn to reframe negative thinking, cultivate resilience, and develop effective coping strategies. This goal-oriented approach empowers me to overcome obstacles, achieve my aspirations, and lead a more fulfilling life.

  • I believe in prioritizing health-promoting behaviors and outcomes, rather than focusing solely on body weight. By shifting the emphasis away from weight loss as the primary marker of health, I recognize the diverse factors that contribute to overall well-being, including nutrition, physical activity, mental health, and social connections. It encourages me to cultivate self-compassion, body acceptance, and holistic self-care practices, promoting a more inclusive and sustainable approach to health for people of all sizes.
